Prohibited items

Last updated: 30 August 2026

Lagi is for physical, secondhand goods that are legal to sell where you are. The rules below are the floor and apply everywhere; your own country's law may forbid more, and it is your responsibility to know it. Singapore statutes are named where they are the clearest example, not because Lagi is a Singapore-only marketplace — it is not. If an item is on this list, it may not be listed anywhere — and listings that slip through will be removed. Repeat or serious violations end accounts. If you're unsure whether something belongs here, ask us first: [email protected].

Never allowed

Weapons and dangerous articles. Firearms, replica or imitation guns, airsoft and BB guns, tasers and stun guns, pepper spray and other personal-protection sprays, knives designed as weapons, knuckledusters, and any item controlled as a weapon where you are — in Singapore, anything under the Arms and Explosives Act or the Corrosive and Explosive Substances and Offensive Weapons Act. Fireworks and explosives of any kind.

Counterfeits and infringing goods. Fake branded items, replicas sold as genuine or otherwise, and unauthorised copies of any product. If you can't vouch for authenticity, don't list it as branded.

Stolen or unlawfully obtained goods. Selling goods you don't have the right to sell is a crime, and we cooperate with the authorities on reports of stolen property.

Recalled products. Any item subject to a safety recall, in any market. Check before listing — for baby gear see the safety section below.

Medicines, supplements, and medical items. Prescription and over-the-counter medicines, health supplements, contact lenses, and used medical devices. Regulated everywhere (HSA in Singapore, MHRA in the UK, FDA in the US); not for a secondhand marketplace.

Tobacco, vaporisers, and alcohol. Not listable on Lagi in any country. E-vaporisers and their components are banned outright in Singapore, and tobacco and alcohol sales require licences we don't support anywhere.

Drugs and drug paraphernalia. Obviously.

Adult content and services. No sexually explicit material, and no services of any kind — Lagi is for goods.

Live animals. No pets, no livestock, no wildlife, no animal parts from protected species.

Food and infant formula. Perishables, home-cooked food, breast milk, and infant formula (formula resale is also an unsafe-storage risk).

Vouchers, tickets, and digital goods. Gift cards, vouchers, event tickets, game accounts, software keys, files, and anything else that isn't a physical object you can hand over at a meetup. Physical goods only.

Personal data and documents. IDs, official documents, uniforms of public agencies, SIM cards, and anything whose value is someone's identity.

Hazardous materials. Chemicals, pesticides, compressed gas, and items with damaged or recalled lithium batteries.

Baby gear: extra safety rules

Baby gear was Lagi's first category and carries the strictest safety bar on the marketplace:

Car seats.

Cots and sleep products.

Recalls. Check the model against recall databases before listing: the US CPSC (cpsc.gov/Recalls), the EU Safety Gate, and Singapore Consumer Product Safety alerts (consumerproductsafety.gov.sg). If your item appears, don't list it — and stop using it.

General condition. Safety-critical items (carriers, high chairs, playpens, bike seats, helmets) must have all restraints, straps, and buckles intact and functioning. Helmets that have taken an impact may not be listed.

What happens when something slips through

Users can report any listing (choose "prohibited item"). Listings with multiple open reports are hidden automatically pending review; confirmed violations are removed and may lead to account termination, and where the law requires it, referral to the authorities.
